The increased use of school safety measures and Zero tolerance policies in the United States education system has created a disconnect between perceived and actual school safety. While legislators, school administrators, and the public fuel the creation of school safety guidelines, the voice of the student population these guidelines impact may have been lost. The purpose of this study was to investigate student perceptions of crime, and the role of School Resource Officers (SROs) based on their high school experience.
