“The Good Soldier: A Look at the Stigma and Stereotypes of the US Military” examines the stigma associated with mental health as well as gender stereotypes and bias in the United States military. It uses my personal experience in the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program as well as research to show the institutionalization of stigma and stereotypes. The purpose of this thesis is to spread awareness and question why this stigma exists.
