The Intersection Of Gender And Negotiation: A Comprehensive Look At The Literature, Kelsey England

According to the majority of literature it appears there are differences in specific advantages and disadvantages genders are exposed to in negotiations. This article aims to further introduce and break down the literature in order to provide a comprehensive overview of the intersections of negotiation and gender in regards to general negotiation practices, negotiations within the workplace, and what can be done to level the playing field in regards to disadvantages placed on certain genders. This article also addresses the remaining gaps in the literature and suggests where the research should move in future studies.

This paper discusses Simon Legree's moral degradation in Uncle Tom's Cabin, primarily through his two most prominent dreams in the novel. Freudian analysis of Legree's dreams explains that Legree's past mistreatment of others haunts him to the point where he is driven to the brink of insanity. Legree's suppression of his guilt showcases his inner struggle, as he values his slaveowner reputation to such a degree that he must abandon any shred of humanity.

This study investigated the implications of attachment orientations and personality dimensions for accuracy in detecting deception from emotionally-based statements. Thirty individuals (M age = 25.33, range = 18-52) completed a survey that included the Personality Inventory for DSM-V-Brief Form and the Relationship Styles Questionnaire to measure the individual differences in question. To measure deceit, 7 mental health counselors volunteered to participate in a video-recorded mock interview concerning their current romantic partner—3 individuals provided false responses, and the remaining 4 offered true answers. Distance Makes The Heart Grow Fonder: Do Long-Distance Relationships Have An Effect On Levels Of Intimacy In Romantic Relationships?, Kelsey K. Peterson

This study examined intimacy levels between individuals in long-distance relationships and those who are in geographically close relationships. Intimacy was broken down into three subcategories: Commitment, Togetherness and Satisfaction in the relationship. It was hypothesized that individuals in long-distance relationships would have higher intimacy levels in all three subcategories than those who are not. The participants were young adults aged 18-25. They were given an online survey and answered questions, which measured intimacy in regards to the three subcategories.
