This report from the United States (US) House Select Committee on Indian Affairs, dated November 26, 1991, was written to accompany US Senate Bill 168 which aimed to provide the Three Affiliated Tribes and Standing Rock Sioux with fair compensation for lands taken for construction of the Garrison Dam and Oahe Dam as well as the return of land that was taken but not used for the dam projects. This collection consists of the papers of Joseph Everett Kennedy, spanning 1965-1990. Materials Include correspondence, clippings, printed material, press releases, and memoranda pertaining to Kennedy's activities as Georgia Senator, 4th District (1967-1984), President Pro Tempore (1983-1984), and his unsuccessful campaign for Lt. Governor in 1990. The materials document legislation before the General Assembly and matters of interest to Kennedy's constituents including flag burning and natural resources.
