This article analyzes the history of the emergence of the word terminology, its place in linguistics and features. The theory of terminology is between two postulates: on the one hand, conceptual terminology fabricated in the absolute by terminologists, and on the other, contextual terminology, which is observed during the automated use of texts. Also considered are the theoretical views of scientists regarding terminology
