Open Access has evolved into the most complex challenge of the scholarly communication landscape and something libraries grapple with on a regular basis. But although librarians hold increasingly positive perceptions about OA, including its richness of unique content and immediacy of access, many lack the understanding, training, documentation, and knowledge of best practices that would allow them to engage with it confidently. Academic libraries play multifaceted roles in connection to student success. Successful partnerships between student success-focused units and libraries are essential to building a supportive environment for students. The presenters will share the initial findings examining student success initiatives within university and college libraries in North America. Specifically, the researchers will discuss the findings from focus groups conducted with Student Success Librarians and the ways they engage with campus partners to implement student success initiatives.

Academic libraries are increasingly aligning their goals and resources to support student success on their campuses. This work can combine responsibilities like information literacy instruction, library outreach, and campus collaboration. This presentation will delve into the findings of a national survey and focus groups about student success efforts in academic libraries to provide insight into strategies for campus collaboration. Participants will identify potential partnership opportunities to increase collaboration, examine roadblocks to success, and develop takeaways for expanding their approach to working with campus partners.
