The paper examined the information and communication technology (ICT) tools for dissemination of covid19 information: a usage analysis among information professionals in Kwara state. The descriptive survey design was adopted. The population of the study comprised of 120 information professionals in Kwara State. Four (4) research questions guided this study. The total enumerative sampling technique was used, and questionnaire was used to collect data for this study. This qualitative research explored the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on makerspaces in the United States which were subject to public health guidelines and challenged with limited/no access to facilities. This multi-case study examined two public library makerspaces, and addressed these research questions: (1) How did the pandemic affect makerspace operations and access, and the teaching and learning that occurs there? This study examines the use of social media during covid-19 by the Justice Babasola Ogunade Law Library of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo State, Nigeria.

In achieving the set objectives for this study, Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was conducted among the six staff of the Hon. Justice Babasola Ogunade Law Library, Ajayi Crowther University, Nigeria. For the purpose of ensuring that the discussion revolved round the intended construct. The researchers made use of prepared structured questions and checklists that made the process of data collection easier.

The ACRL Information Literacy Framework is one such instrument that ideally adapts to this purpose. The authors designed and distributed two surveys to answer the questions of whether the 2020 federal response to the COVID-19 pandemic affected academic librarians’ trust in government information, and whether it affected the way they use government information professionally. The results showed a limited decrease in trust in 2020, somewhat mitigated by the administration turnover in 2021. Many librarians already discussed considerations such as bias, authority, and disinformation when recommending government information to students, and others indicated they are more likely to do so going forward. This study sought to establish how African libraries have been thriving during the COVID-19 pandemic through systematic review of literature from the Library Philosophy and Practice e-Journal (LPP). The PRISMA guidelines were followed to review and select the twelve (12) articles used for qualitative analysis. The study findings established that research productivity pertaining to libraries and Covid-19 is very low in Africa based on LPP e-journal. This survey-based study explores the ways Covid19 has added to the existing challenges faced by novice teachers by introducing brand new stressors and exacerbating previously identified challenges during the 2020-2021 school year. We have sought to identify what kinds of support were in place for new teachers during Covid-19 and how these were received by beginning educators. What did they find comforting and useful? In what work contexts did teachers feel supported? By whom? What were teachers’ preferences for intervention and support?

This lightning talk will provide an overview of two projects faculty librarians undertook in response to the emerging information literacy needs of various stakeholders at Rowan University. The two projects include: a Covid-19 and misinformation online guide and a Covid-19 online research-focused guide for healthcare practitioners.

While these projects were created for different University populations with distinct informational needs (teachers, students, the general public, medical practitioners/researchers), a common theme across these projects was librarians quickly filling information gaps in response to the global Covid-19 pandemic.
