The aim of the present study is to analyse the contents of National Digital Library. The objectives of the study were to find out the various languages covered, coverage of different subjects in National Digital Library. The study also tried out to find out organizations that have created their institutional repositories and provided links on National Digital Library. NDL is a one stop for all digital resources. The user according to his educational level can choose the learning material. The searches can be refined by choosing different options like type of learning resource, educational degree, file formats, languages etc.

CALASYS is the Chinese American Librarians Association (CALA)’s academic resource and repository system. The purpose of the system is to collect, organize, and store scholarly publications, library and information science related resources created or contributed by CALA members and others in the library field. The CALASYS Committee will share the experiences of collecting data, creating metadata, and improving access to the data. As an all-volunteer committee, the group works with the CALA community which consists of members from different types of libraries and information professions. The leadership teams of bepress and SSRN will present the findings of an integration pilot conducted in partnership with Columbia Law School’s Arthur W. Diamond Law Library, the University of Georgia School of Law’s Alexander Campbell King Law Library, and Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business. Expanding the reach of open access scholarship is central to the mission of both bepress and SSRN. Since its inception six years ago, our institutional repository has provided a number of opportunities to increase campus diversity awareness and representation. Examples begin with use as the registration/schedule platform for our annual Diversity Conference and as a repository for keynotes and other conference sessions. The repository also houses student journals such as 'Dissenting Voices', and we have built online exhibits related to artifacts from other parts of the world (e.g., New Guinea). A new e-book imprint has enabled us to publish books in Spanish and about other times and cultures, e.g., 'Gilgamesh'. The repository has allowed us to look …

The Chinese American Librarians Association (CALA)’s Academic Resources & Repository System (CALASYS) is an important initiative to curate its members’ research works, the organizational archival materials, and other cultural resources. CALASYS uses Omeka, an open source web-publishing platform, to store, link, display, and exhibit its collections. During its development, several aspects of the platform have been significantly improved due to the effort of the CALASYS Group and the CALA members.

DigitalCommons@UNO (https://digitalcommons.unomaha.edu/) is an Institutional Repository (IR) and an initiative implemented by the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) Libraries to support our UNO scholars through providing a Green Open Access solution. DigitalCommons@UNO disseminates a wide variety of scholarship including faculty papers, electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs), conferences and journals. Since its launch in 2014, the UNO Libraries have been implementing and managing DigitalCommons@UNO through outreach to the UNO community in an effort to collect scholarly works into the IR.

Digital Initiatives Symposium

In an effort to eliminate redundancies in thesis and dissertation cataloging at the University of Arkansas, a working group was devised to create a semi-automated workflow. This new, multi-departmental workflow eliminates redundancies, allowing us to provide better access to the intellectual endeavors of the scholars on our campus. This paper describes the experience of the collaboration within multiple library departments and departments across campus; acknowledges the importance of library and campus collaboration with examples of success and advice from the literature; and emphasizes clear and consistent communication, meeting user needs, and streamlined and innovative workflows.

In 2017, Library Services at Minnesota State University, Mankato, in collaboration with our College of Graduate Studies and Research, launched the first annual Graduate Online Symposium. This event was designed to showcase the research, scholarly and creative activities of our graduate students. Rather than presenting at an on-campus forum, we gave our graduate students (both on-campus and off-campus) an opportunity to be able to share their research in an open, online environment. Librarians at Duquesne University did a soft rollout of their institutional repository in 2016, with a full rollout planned for 2017. Elsevier's acquisition of Digital Commons prompted a reevaluation of the marketing plan. The Outreach & Communications Librarian, Digital Scholarship Librarian, and Systems Librarian approached this problem collaboratively to craft (and rebrand) a marketing message.

Whereas traditional book and journal publishing remain the gold standard for many post-secondary institutions, nontraditional publishing is just as prolific at the flagship university in Maine. The university has strong land and sea grant missions that drive a broad research agenda, with an emphasis on community outreach and engagement. However, the impact of researchers’ contributions outside of academe is unlikely to be accurately reflected in promotion, tenure or review processes. Leveraging Elsevier’S Creative Commons License Requirement To Undermine Embargoes, Josh Bolick

In the last round of author-sharing policy revisions, Elsevier created a labyrinthine title-by-title embargo structure requiring embargoes from 12 to 48 months for authors sharing via institutional repository (IR), while permitting immediate sharing via an author’s personal website or blog. At the same time, all prepublication versions are to bear a Creative Commons-Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivatives (CC-BY-NC-ND) license. At the time this policy was announced, it was criticized by many in the scholarly communication community as overly complicated and restrictive. However, this CC licensing requirement creates an avenue for subverting an embargo in the IR to achieve quicker and wider open distribution …
