Background: Although many libraries have offered 3D printing as a service or available technology, there is a lack of information on course-integrated programs for 3D printing in which the library played a primary role. Therefore, librarians at the Touro College School of Health Sciences began exploring 3D printing for inclusion in the occupational and physical therapy curriculum. Case Presentation: The goal of this project was to educate occupational and physical therapy students and faculty about the potential applications of 3D printing in health care and provide hands-on experience, while increasing collaboration between librarians and faculty. Utilising Social Media To Improve Relationship Quality: The Case Of The University Library, Melissa N. Clark, Scott Bacon

As the centre of academic life at a university, the university library plays an important role in how students perceive their relationship with the university. This study analyses the effect that participation in library social media has on student perception of relationship quality with the university. The hypotheses proposed in this study were found to be substantiated: following the library on social media is positively related to a student's perception of their relationship quality with the university; students interested in multiple library services are likely to report the perception of a higher quality relationship with the university.

In tough economic times, History Day provides an excellent opportunity for units at a university and interested parties in the community to collaborate in new and interesting ways. A focus on collaboration at St. Cloud State University (SCSU) helped ensure that History Day participants in central Minnesota had a more level playing field with their counterparts in the Twin Cities area. Strong relationships were built over three years of programming, which has become a stabilizing force as members of the team weather more new challenges due to the economic recession.

The author attempts to define professional library tasks by surveying small Bible college librarians to discover the tasks on which they spent the most time performing directly and which tasks they considered “professional.” Respondents generally spent most of their time directly performing many tasks that they considered professional in nature. They apparently were unaware that they directly performed many tasks that they did not consider professional and did not directly perform many tasks that they considered professional. Selection is not only the first step if! libraria1lship, it is also the first application of the philosophy of librarianship. Before anything call be searched and accessed in a library, it must be selected by that library. But the process of selection requires a selection policy~- whether or not it is written. A written selection policy would help in sure consistency in the selection process, but whether it is written or 1I0t, one who selects resources for a library does follow some policy. And this policy is shaped by the selector's philosophy of librarianship.
