Some software business leaders lack strategies for implementing servitization (Software-as-a-Service, or SaaS) initiatives, which has the potential for adverse business outcomes. Software business leaders are concerned with implementing service initiatives to remain competitive and foster sustainability. Grounded in the resource-based view theory, the purpose of this qualitative multiple case study was to explore strategies business leaders in the software industry use for implementing servitization SaaS initiatives. Chip-and-Personal Identification Number (PIN) technology is seen as a game changer in many e-commerce industries and a transformational technology in the 21st century. However, security concerns have made chip-and-PIN adoption relatively slow. Massive unauthorized card payment transactions in the United States (U.S.) cost victims an estimate totaling billions of dollars. AbstractApproximately 60,000 tons of e-waste from new, secondhand, or used electrical electronics equipment/devices (UEEEDs) are disposed off at the end of their shelf life annually in Lagos, Nigeria. The purpose of this qualitative case study was to understand better how secondhand or UEEED e-waste was efficiently managed or recycled without resulting in environmental concerns.
