The Ferid Murad, MD papers consists of fifiteen handwritten notebooks documenting Dr. Ferid Murad's research. The notebooks include research data presented in tables and charts, as well as Dr. Murad's notes. The notebooks span the years 1959-1970. In addition, the collection includes a small number of printed materials from organizations of which Dr. Murad was a part. The documents are listed alphabetically by the last name of the primary medical person associated with the item. The city and county shown for each individual are the Texas area where they lived the longest, were most active in their profession, or where the document originated. Dr. Bertner, one of founders of the Texas Medical Center in Houston Texas, was its first President from 1945 to 1950. He was also the acting director for the first four years of the existence of the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Bertner was active in leading many medical organizations and institutions in the first half of the 20th century in Texas and in the nation. These papers provide information about his life, and to the development of the Texas Medical Center and its institutions. See more at MS 002.

The Lucile Baird papers contains 13 photographs and 4 letters related to the Baptist Memorial Hospital (later Memorial Hospital). The photographs depict hospital staff, interns, nurses, and students. Robert Jolly and Lillian Wilson Burnett Jolly appear in a few photographs, and they are the correspondents with Lucile Baird. Letters include Christmas greeting cards and Baptist Hospital stationary. Photographs and letters appear to have annotations by the creator as well as her niece, Carol Wilde. See more at MS 249.
