Hands-on activity to help participants find a diversity of materials to support their communities and expand their collections. This will range from identifying relevant book and media awards to finding ways to promote these materials. We will also include discussion of how to advocate for policy statements expressing the value of diverse, accessible collections as well as ways to advocate for funds to support these collections. Participants will be encouraged to share their insights.

Libraries As Sustainability Leaders: Ala's Special Task Force, René Tanner, Rebekkah Smith Aldrich, Monika Antonelli, Adrian K. Ho

This article discusses the work of the American Library Association (ALA) Special Task Force on Sustainability, which identified 52 recommendations, including the adoption of sustainability as a core value of librarianship. The group aims to promote libraries as catalysts, connectors, and conveners to promote sustainability, resilience, and regeneration. The Task Force is guided by the concept of the triple bottom line, which states that an organization's practices must be not only economically feasible but also socially equitable and environmentally sound. The article also provides examples of how libraries engage in sustainable practices to support the cities and towns they serve.

The weather started getting rough, the tiny ship was getting tossed. If not for the courage of the fearless crew, the digital objects would be lost. Loosely based on a popular TV show, this interactive presentation will provide a basic introduction to digital preservation terms, tools, edu-cational materials (including handouts), and digital preservation plans. The session will conclude with a group discussion and time to begin working on your own digital preservation plan worksheet.

We produce a variety of collection analysis reports which are used for several collection management functions, such as assessment, evaluation, and administration. We have now developed a Collection Review report which includes 100+ journal and package level data elements and dozens of data visualizations, built up from several hundred underlying lists from numerous data sources. This article presents an annotated list of websites with data that describe young people by community and, in the following section, book review resources for diverse children’s and young adult literature. The very first section will point to general resources based on the U.S. & Canada, and then will dip into the specific places served by PNLA. State and Provincial education departments all have some-thing like school report cards. Searches performed aimed at finding state/ provincial or nonprofit agencies providing reports about demographics, disabilities, at-risk behaviors and resiliency factors. In this introduction, the coeditors of this issue introduce, discuss, and provide a relevant framework for the work found herein. Special attention is given to the language of disability and the preferences of those both within and outside of the disability community. A brief explanation is given for each of the theoretical frameworks used to model disability in the existing literature to help provide important context for this issue. Lastly, we include an introduction to each of the articles and highlight some of the common themes they reveal.
