Digital Library of Georgia (DLG) news for the fourth quarter of 2023 includes the release of the Chase Street Elementary School PTO scrapbooks collection, which includes engaging scrapbook content created and curated by parent-teacher organizations of a Southern elementary school covering the years 1926 to 2000, which includes the Progressive Era, World War II, the Civil Rights Movement, and the turn of the twentieth-century. The article also features the DLG's efforts to support community-driven archives throughout the state of Georgia, aligned with national trends and fostering cultural heritage work in Georgia.

Based at the University of Georgia Libraries, the Digital Library of Georgia is a GALILEO initiative that collaborates with Georgia's libraries, archives, museums, and other institutions of education and culture to provide access to key information resources on Georgia history, culture, and life. Libraries are often seen as safe places for all people in a community. Libraries draw in diverse members of the community who all feel generally safe in the public space (Leckie and Hopkins, 2002, p. 353). Libraries often strive to be places of “no judgment” where all are treated equally and can have their information needs met in an unbiased fashion (American Library Association, 2006). Attitudes Towards Library Patrons With Physical Challenges: A Survey Of Members Of The Public Library Division Of The Alabama Library Association, Jackie Brodsky, Muriel K. Wells

By surveying members of the Public Library Division of the Alabama Library Association, this study sought to determine attitudes toward patrons with physical challenges. The continued growth in the population of persons over age 65, coupled with the fact that nearly one in five Americans report some level of physical challenge, suggests the need for libraries to provide resources and services to this growing constituency. The advent of new technologies and resources for libraries to provide access to information by persons with physical challenges, allows more users to fulfill a more participatory role within their information-seeking activities.
