The presenters, archivists in an academic university Library, launched a web archiving program for a public university in the United States in 2018 with a three-year Archive-it contract. In the first six years of the web archiving program, we have laid the groundwork for an ongoing web archiving program through robust documentation built in anticipation of potential loss of resources, especially personnel. In this presentation, we report on a sustainability review of the program using a practical framework and a conceptual framework. The study examined the strategies for overcoming challenges in digital preservation of electronic theses and dissertations in public university libraries in South-East Nigeria. The study adopted descriptive survey research design. The study population comprised 256 librarians, out of which only sixty-eight (68) digital or institutional repositories librarians were covered. It highlights the initiatives taken at the Central Library of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, to digitize and preserve the GL. It dwells upon how 18,000 theses and dissertations were digitized, and 7500 documents related to people’s movements in the pre and post-independence era comprising 3lac pages were digitized and archived. It elaborates on the challenges encountered and overcome, like removing the duplicate copies, assigning metadata, and saving files as PDF/A, budgetary constraints. The present study is a bibliometric analysis of 328 articles from 11 volumes published in International Journal of Digital Curation published by University of Edinburgh, U.K from 2006-2017. The study is based on three basic objectives in terms of yearly distribution of articles, authorship pattern and degree of collaboration in the journal. Data collection is done from DOAJ. The result revealed that year 2009 was the most fruitful year with 46 articles, Single authorship showing highest contribution and extent of collaboration recorded is considerable with a overall value of 0.69.

The aims of this research are to describe digital preservation strategies conducted by two selected academic libraries in Jakarta and Bandung, Indonesia. This research uses the qualitative approach with data collection method through interview. The results indicate that respondent libraries have made efforts to implement digital preservation activities, in order to protect their digital data and collection. This study recommends that the lack of official policy according to digital preservation should be followed up by providing a preservation policy.

The Organic Agriculture Research and Extension Initiative, administered by USDA-NIFA, is the major federal funder of organic agricultural research. Analysis of 733 publications produced during the initiative’s first five years explored the dissemination of this research, and accessibility to and preservation of the publications. Publications associated with conferences (e.g., abstracts) were most numerous (36%). Many publications (69%) were openly accessible online in 2017 but fewer than 10% of these appeared in a stable digital repository. In four of the eight publication categories, access disappeared over time. No program exists to systematically collect and preserve these outputs of organic agricultural research. …
