This study analyzes the citations of Masters Theses in Library and Information Science of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria submitted from 2011 to 2018 with a view to determining the format and age of materials used and most frequently cited journals. The document checklists were used for data collections and the citations were extracted from the title pages and reference lists of each of the theses. Data obtained from 48 Masters Theses were examined. This study was organized to assess and have records about the information literacy and computer literacy skills among the students at the University of Jammu. To collect the data, a questionnaire was framed and distributed among 265 students studying at the University of Jammu. The survey study investigates the perception of the value of Library and Information Science (LIS) degree for side business practices among LIS professionals in Nigeria. The study used a combination of web-based and hard copy questionnaire to elicit information from 176 randomly selected working librarians in academic libraries in Nigeria. The analysis of the present study was done based on a total data-set of 237820 research publications of the LIS discipline ranging from April 1920 to April 2020 (100 years) as mined from the LENS database. This short commentary introduces and discusses the “Library Philosophy and Practice (LPP) Phenomenon,” wherein a scholarly journal published in a developed country has an extremely large number of authors from developing countries, relative to the typical journal. Elements of journals that fit the LPP phenomenon are discussed, as well as what this phenomenon says about barriers to scholarly publishing for researchers from developing nations. The present study examines the accessibility of URLs cited in the journals of Library and Information Science. The journals were selected based on their high impact factor published between 2008 and 2017. A PHP script was used to crawl the Uniform Resource Locators (URL) collected from the reference list. A total of 3,24,636 references were extracted from 7986 articles, out of which 51,839 had URLs. The research findings indicated that 23.10% of URLs were inaccessible. Purpose. The primary purpose of this paper is to measure the present status of publications, authors, citations, authors per publication, citations per publication, country, journal rank, Source-Normalized Impact per Paper (SNIP), Cite Score, h-index, authorship productivity, and collaborative nature of open-access (OA) library and information science (LIS) journals in the SCOPUS database.

Material and Methods. The study selected 61open access journals of LIS in the SCOPUS database as a sample and assessed their current status. History page of Wikipedia article contains statistics of page from where the status and standard of the page has been derived.
