Navigating Wms Analytics For The Right Data, Laura Edwards, Todd King, Kelly Smith

The presenters shared lessons learned from using OCLC WorldShare Management System (WMS) Analytics to gather statistics and data for both internal and external reporting purposes. Existing WMS reporting functionality simplifies special projects such as inventories and clean-up initiatives. However, both Collection Evaluation and Report Designer have limitations that make getting accurate collections numbers difficult due to gaps in the available data.

As researchers seek to find ways to manage and openly share their data in compliance with grant requirements, many libraries have developed new services to support these researchers. In this session, we will discuss some of the different strategies that libraries are using to support data management, as well as the role that the IR may (or may not) play in these programs. While there is certainly not a one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to library-led data initiatives, this conversation will allow participants to share ideas and workflows that will hopefully provide all attendees with new concepts to apply either …
