Since the 2009 founding of the Interdisciplinary Research and Informatics Scholarship Center (or IRIS), a digital humanities and social sciences center at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, faculty, librarians, and undergraduates have been collaborating to reinvigorate humanities curriculum both within and beyond the classroom.1 The IRIS Center has become a site where faculty and librarians work together to find solutions to budget shortfalls and changing definitions of higher education.
