As recent political events across the globe have shed a light on the fragility of democratic values, the role of the University in creating a framework for civic education becomes more urgent. Informed, caring and engaged citizenry must be a goal of higher education. Students currently face the emergence of faulty types of information - such as misinformation and disinformation, which undermines the notion of collective or public inquiry, not only within universities, but also within society as a whole. In 2020, the institutional repository manager who also had responsibilities over the social media accounts for the library, decided to attempt a year-long experiment titled #ThesisTuesday, a weekly social media campaign to promote ETDs and connect with campus stakeholders, researchers, and readers. At the time, the library had two social media student assistants who were tasked with sourcing images for the 52 chosen ETDs completed during 2020. The repository manager then used an online graphic creation tool, Canva to create a template for each ETD, plug in an image and swap out titles/authors. She also created short links for …

The control towards Indonesian forest and land fires in 2020 is deemed more complicated due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Its rapid dissemination encourages the central and regional government officials to focus the Covid-19 risk reduction through some policies, such as health protocol, social activity and large-scale meeting restrictions as well as independent regional quarantine, causing the controlling process towards the fires to be implemented by collaborating a direct method in disaster-vulnerable areas through digital communication media.

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to describe the industry panel session hosted by Bond University Library at the Australian Library and Information Association's Information Online 2013 Conference. The panel was held to discuss the use and implications of professional Instagram profiles. The panel included a professional photographer, an internet marketing expert, a social media expert, a librarian and a social media-savvy student.
