This workflow is used for the University of Central Florida Libraries’ deaccession project to batch withdraw single and/or multiple items and volumes in records in Ex Libris’ Library Management System, Alma. It comprises several parts, including creating to-be-withdrawn list and considering different scenarios, batch withdrawing items in Alma, batch updating the MARC 996 field used for local statistics in the bibliographic records, creating the batch import profile, importing the updated records, unlinking bibliographic records from the Network Zone, and copying all the 035 fields (OCLC number) for Connexion update. With equity, diversity, and inclusion in mind, and to improve access to the juvenile biographies in the University of Central Florida Curriculum Materials Center (CMC) Library, librarians from cataloging, CMC and ILL, analyzed 952 bibliographic records and enhanced subject headings with biographees' gender, race, nationality and other information. Statistics were compiled to measure subject headings for biases and inequalities. Local subjects, LCSH, LC Demographic Group Terms and Homosaurus terms were added to aid students to discover materials for the diverse population they will teach.

As part of a textbook affordability initiative, the University of Central Florida Libraries sought ways to inform students that hundreds of required textbooks are available for free as library eTextbooks. When other methods did not include necessary information such as a link to the eTextbook or other details, a secondary method was investigated: creating an eTextbook Portal. An eTextbook Portal serves as a searchable webpage to help students locate eTextbooks that match their courses. In order to increase the value and discoverability of their metadata, libraries explore options for making that data available and useful outside of the data silo of the library world through the adoption of Linked Data and Linked Open Data (LOD). OCLC Research conducted its 2018 International Linked Data Survey for Implementers. Results showed that 41% of the linked data projects/services described in 2018 were reported as using Wikidata as a source they consumed. Since the Chinese American Librarians Association’s Academic Resources and Repository System (CALASYS, https://ir.cala-web.org/) was initiated in 2013, its collections have grown gradually by way of the Committee’s curation and entries with occasional help from LIS students. The Chinese American Librarians Association (CALA)’s Academic Resources & Repository System (CALASYS) is an important initiative to curate its members’ research works, the organizational archival materials, and other cultural resources. CALASYS uses Omeka, an open source web-publishing platform, to store, link, display, and exhibit its collections. During its development, several aspects of the platform have been significantly improved due to the effort of the CALASYS Group and the CALA members.

– This paper aims to provide an overview of the field of hospitality management and a guide to the major books, databases, web sites, and other resources that comprise a quality hospitality management reference collection.

Design/methodology/approach
– Following a short introduction and overview, key sources and annotations are presented in categories that will help reference and collection librarians to better understand and serve hospitality management students.
