Shared Oversight: Equipping Elders To Shepherd The Flock, Eric Michael Hartman

Doctoral Dissertations and Projects

These elders, also called overseers, are to shepherd the flock (Acts 20:17, 28). The problem is that there is often lack training to that end. This study constructed a process for training elders and/or potential elders within a congregation to better understand the nature of plurality and parity of those tasked with caring for God’s people. I’M Every Woman: Advancing The Intersectional Leadership Of Black Women School Leaders As Anti-Racist Praxis, April L. Peters, Angel Miles Nash

Education Faculty Articles and Research

The rallying, clarion call to #SayHerName has prompted the United States to intentionally include the lives, voices, struggles, and contributions of Black women and countless others of her ilk who have suffered and strived in the midst of anti-Black racism. To advance a leadership framework that is rooted in the historicity of brilliance embodied in Black women’s educational leadership, and their proclivity for resisting oppression, we expand on intersectional leadership. We develop this expansion along three dimensions of research centering Black women’s leadership: the historical foundation of Black women’s leadership in schools and communities, the epistemological basis of Black women’s …

The practice of leadership is most often understood within the

context of relationships inside organizations and institutions. The

boundaries that dictated our lives months before have all but

dissolved, prompting the need to reconsider our definition of

leadership, where it takes place, and who controls it.

Circumstances and opportunities have required women to

readjust their expectations and what is expected of them. While

the past 18-months took a physical, emotional, social, and political

toll on many families, it has also provided a moment for reflection,

resignation, recovery, and reimagination of what our lives could

be beyond this moment. It has …
