On behalf of DG Central 1, LLC (DG Central 1), a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources, LLC, SWCA Environmental Consultants (SWCA) conducted a cultural resources survey of an approximately 14.7-acre parcel proposed for the Calaveras Solar Project (Project). The Project is proposed to occur on a parcel located immediately east of the intersection of County Road 128 and Farm-to-Market Road 775, near the community of Calaveras, Wilson County, Texas. The proposed Project will consist of a main solar array and ancillary facilities all constructed within the 14.7-acre parcel. Archaeologists from the Center for Archaeological Studies (CAS) at Texas State University conducted an intensive pedestrian survey including the excavation of 5 mechanical trenches and 50 shovel tests in Moody Reunion and Fairgrounds, Floresville, Texas, from January 10 through February 23, 2018. The survey was executed in order to assess the project area for potential impacts to cultural resources in advance of the installation of a new baseball complex and associated infrastructure by the City of Floresville. (Goshawk) conducted one cultural resources survey within the Eagle Ford Play, Central Eagle Ford Zone at the request of EOG Resources, Inc. (EOG). The project subjected to cultural resources investigation was the proposed Denali Unit #101H Access Road right-of-way (ROW). The Area of Potential Effect (APE) for the project was a 75-foot (23-meter [m]) wide ROW, consisting of a 50-foot (15-m) wide permanent easement and a 25-foot (8-m) wide temporary construction easement. A two-stage archaeological investigation and preliminary geomorphological assessment was conducted at Rancho de las Cabras, San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, by the Center for Archaeological Research (CAR) of The University of Texas at San Antonio for the National Park Service (NPS). The investigation was prompted by NPS plans to construct a parking lot and visitors' center near the Spanish colonial ruins (41WN30). The geomorphological investigations are preliminary, with more fieldwork needed to test the proposed working model; however, the geomorphological conclusions suggest widespread potential for finding buried prehistoric sites in the alluvial terraces.

During the month of July, 1983, the Center for Archaeological Research conducted a fourth season of excavations at Rancho de las Cabras (41 WN30) near Floresville, Texas. Eleven excavation units were completed in the east part of the compound. Details of the construction of the south wall of Room 3 and the southeast portion of the compound wall were recorded. A trench for a palisade-type fence was located and followed out in the vicinity of the original northeast wall section. An analysis of the 1982 field season activities at Rancho de las Cabras (41 WN 30) is presented in this report. Additional data concerning structural details and construction activities at the site are presented. The results of further archival research provide additional information concerning the history of the Rancho de las Cabras site, its relationship to Mission Espada, and the adjacent landowners. An expanded genealogy is presented of the Calvillo and Delgado families, both intimately connected to Rancho de las Cabras. Recommendations are made for further work at the site.
