It is evident from literature that organisations embark on Corporate Social Responsibility as a philanthropic approach and initiative to give back to society. In Ghana, Multi-National Companies (MNCs) such as Mobile Telecommunication Network (MTN) employ information dissemination techniques and processes to broadcast these projects to the public in a manner that reflect altruism. Boar hunter for Minangkabau ethnic in Indonesia is a tradition. The goal of boar hunting is to repel boar pests that damage residents’ plantation. However, as time goes by, boar-hunting activities at this time become a media to channel hobbies and are considered as a tradition to increase the existence of men in Minangkabau. Social networking has become an inevitable part of our routine life. Such media open up a wide variety of tools that facilitate communication with fellow beings. This study tried to understand the use of social networking sites by the youth; especially the engineering students. Data was collected through survey method using a structured questionnaire. The results show that students keep profiles on multiple social networking sites, but use only one site actively.
