The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the value of using the videotaped storyboard in the pre-planning and pre-production approval of a client oriented, corporate videotaped training program.

The methodology in this study is as follows: (1) to undertake the production of a corporate videotape training program; (2) to gather the necessary pre-production information about the topic, the audience, the manner in which the videotape program will be used; (3) to develop a storyboard based on the information obtained; (4) to present this storyboard for production approval; (5) to videotape the storyboard; (6) to present this videotaped version of …

Gender-Related Language Usage As Related To Psychological Sex Role Orientation, Kathleen Mulder Parker

The relationship between gender-related language and psychological sex role orientation is explored. Research findings are cited that support the existence of sexist language and the influence of language on thought. Evidence of the behavioral expectations re la tin g to psychological sex role orientation is presented. A relationship between psychological sex role orientation and gender-related speech usage is hypothesized. An instrument for measuring gender-related speech was developed and subsequently administered to a group of community college students along with the Bern Sex Role Inventory. The purpose of this thesis has been to develop, test and utilize a reliable method to quantify the prevalence of pro- and anti-social behavior on children's television as assessed from a contextualist perspective. Many previous studies in the area of television have arbitrarily assigned either pro- or anti-social labels to television programs without the benefit of analyzing the content of these programs

Freelance writing for magazines is an uncertain business; that is, one cannot specifically school oneself to guarantee even a modicum of success in this career. A writer may, of course, learn the "proper" procedures for preparing and submitting an article by reading any of several reference books written by those who have "made it" in the business. These procedures vary, however, with each author; also, they say little or nothing about the actual business of writing well. Ultimately, then, a writer must test the waters of freelance magazine writing by trying and failing and trying again.
