Relationship Between Positive Body Image And Selective Visual Self-Presentation On Social Networking Sites: Moderating Role Of Gender, Asharf Sadat Ahadzadeh, Fon Sim Ong, Saeed Pahlevan Sharif

This study examines the association between positive body image and selective visual self-presentation behaviors on social networking sites, while also considering the moderating influence of gender. We conducted a cross-sectional survey involving 282 undergraduate students in Malaysia (Mage = 20.85, SD = 1.81). The results reveal a negative correlation between positive body image and behaviors such as posing in pictures and editing photos. However, no significant relationship was found between positive body image and photo selection. As a photographer, I am extremely interested in the concept of perception and I let this concept drive most of my artistic work. I present four images from my photographic series “Animals in the Wild,” which explore this idea of perception. These four images: Giraffe, Dinosaur, Buffalo, and Bunny—are drastically varied photos that include no real animals, but instead beg the mind to perceive shapes, colors, figure, and coincidence as an animal.

It recognizes worries held within my subconscious and brings them to life through graphic design, photography, and video. The process of creating provides a new perspective of looking at both art and occupational therapy as methods of solving emotional distress.

This ethnographic study, dated January 1, 1924, sponsored by the Smithsonian Institution Bureau of Ethnography presents information about the social and ceremonial significance of music to the Mandan and Hidatsa tribes as collected by anthropologist Frances Densmore from the Fort Berthold Reservation in 1912, 1915, and 1918. This study was conducted at the behest of the State Historical Society of North Dakota. The collection includes a catalogue of songs, a description of customs, legends, folk tales, societies, and photographs of musical instruments, some tribal members, earth lodges and other structures.
