By definition, a research study explores new intellectual territory yet builds on previous inquiry that has led up to it. However, many sources that explore the connections between Christian faith and the information professions fail to acknowledge the existence of prior discourse on the subject. The author has assembled a database of more than 450 sources that discuss topics such as philosophy and ethics of librarianship from a Christian perspective; the mediation of Christian/religious information in various library contexts; Christian, religious, and theological publishing; and more. This paper explores the place of the rural library in the context of reading habits of teens. The concept of information literacy should go far beyond users’ acquisition of banked skills. Families with children are one of the fastest growing homeless populations in the United States, but are often left out of public library discussions of services to the homeless. The American Recovery And Reinvestment Act: How It Pertains To Georgia’S Libraries, Diana J. Very

The article presents information on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and discusses its significance to libraries in Georgia. The legislation, also referred as the Stimulus Public Law 111-5, is intended to create supplemental appropriations for job preservation and creation, infrastructure investment, energy efficiency and science, assistance to the unemployed, and local and state fiscal stabilization. It also discusses the challenges posed by the legislation on library administrators. It explores the funding opportunities that public libraries need to consider.

The article reports on the technology upgrade at Georgia State University Library in Atlanta, Goergia. It offers a look at renovations of its facilities and exterior. More than 350 computers were installed in its new Information Commons and Learning Commons. With a significant percentage of librarians planning to retire in the next decade, retaining professionals is imperative. The paper attempted to elicit the various ways of promoting access to indigenous knowledge (IK) in the digital age bringing libraries into the scene as facilitators. Some major characteristics of IK were listed such as IK being mostly rural in origin and locally bound; not systematically documented; oral in nature and usually transmitted through personal communication; not integrated into modern scientific and technical knowledge; culture specific and often generated within communities; use is cost-effective, deployment and mobilization not expensive.
