The study examines the library consortia research publications of the past two decades in order to gain insight into the development of library consortia, with a special emphasis on Indian contributions adopting Scientometrics analysis technique. Data was collected using the Web of Science abstracting and citation database, which retrieved 983 publications dating from 2001 to 2020. For the study, 326 relevant publications were selected and analysed using Biblioshny, Citespace and VOSviewer software. The study uses various bibliometric techniques to examine papers published in the Annals of Library and Information Studies (ALIS) from 2011 to 2021. Scopus database was used to gather the necessary information. Furthermore, the research productivity was measured using various parameters such as year-by-year distribution of publications with citations, RCI, AGR, ACPP, CAI, Citation analysis, and author, institution, and country collaboration. This short commentary introduces and discusses the “Library Philosophy and Practice (LPP) Phenomenon,” wherein a scholarly journal published in a developed country has an extremely large number of authors from developing countries, relative to the typical journal. Elements of journals that fit the LPP phenomenon are discussed, as well as what this phenomenon says about barriers to scholarly publishing for researchers from developing nations. Implications for journals that lack diverse authorship from developing nations are listed. This phenomenon may be studied in other disciplines to further illuminate divides in the scholarly realm.

The primary objective of this study is to identify the global research output on Taliban during the period of 25 years spanning from 1996-2020. Specific objectives are to analyze the distribution of literature, publication trends, authorship patterns, institutional productivity, collaboration networks, and prolific funding agencies. The data was extracted (N=59) from the website of journal by considering all types of publications during 2005-2021. This study used the semantic similarity between citation contexts to develop one scheme for weighting direct citations, and another scheme for allocating residual citations to a publication from its nth citation generation level publication. A relationship between the new direct citation weighting scheme and each of five existing schemes was investigated while the new residual citation scheme was compared with the cascading citation scheme. As we emerge from an unprecedented pandemic that saw closure of libraries, schools, and universities worldwide, we can begin to assess potential lasting impacts on institutions, professions and communities. Through a rapid bibliometric study of COVID-19-related library publishing, we provide a first glimpse into the impacts of the pandemic on library operations, services, collections, and the workforce. We identified and analyzed 237 journal articles published in 2020 about libraries and the pandemic. These articles indicate broad cross-sectoral, global impacts on libraries and librarianship. Our analysis provides a baseline for future research on lasting effects of the pandemic on the field.

For investigating the structure and process of academic communication, bibliometrics provides an excellent set of methodologies and measures. Web 3.0 is a concept that incorporates artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies and brings forth new opportunities and challenges to information scientists. The present study provides an evaluation of the scientific productivity related to Web 3.0 technologies in Web of Science (WoS) during the period of 2007 to 2020. This study aims to explore the publication trends in Webology Journal. The Scopus database was chosen for the extraction of bibliographic data for the period 2006 to 2020. Then, VOSviewer software was used to analyse the data and generate visualization network maps. A total of 295 publications were found during the study period. The various bibliometrics indicators have been applied to identify the publication trends of Webology Journal. The finding revealed that the highest number of papers (92) and the maximum number of citations (273) appeared in 2020.
