Gunung Mas Agrotourism is a sub-unit managed by PT Perkebunan Nusantara VIII (PTPN VIII) under the management of Agrotourism and is the largest contributor to PTPN VIII's revenue, which is 70% and most of it comes from the tourism sector. The facilities and activities offered by Gunung Mas Agrotourism also vary, from lodging, restaurants, tourist attractions, and supporting facilities to meet the tourists' needs. To find out the magnitude of tourist interest in tourist attractions, an analysis of the attractiveness of tourist attractions is needed. This study aims to assess tourist attractions based on tourist preferences as well as the …

The significance of ecotourism has been increasing due to its potential for biodiversity preservation, economic advancement, and the promotion of sustainability awareness. In this research, geospatial analysis and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) was employed to identify feasible ecotourism sites in Bangladesh. The study applied Geographical Information System–Remote Sensing (GIS-RS) parameters and weighted overlay techniques for selected ecotourism characteristics, such as natural attractiveness, topographic features, accessibility, proximity to facilities, and community characteristics. The study found that a significant proportion (around 44%) of Bangladesh’s land exhibits high potential for ecotourism. Cox’s Bazar, Chittagong, and Rangamati are particularly favorable ecotourism locations. However, …

Nature-based solutions (NbS) offer flexibility and adaptability to different adoption scales and purposes. NbS adoption is influenced by various factors in the target area, including environmental, socio-cultural, and economic factors. Therefore, the chances of successful NbS adoption vary between locations due to different characteristics of the target area. This study aims to identify various factors influencing the suitability level of NbS adoption, potential locations for NbS adoption, and to assess urban-rural linkage in improving the water resilience of Jayapura. This research paper explores the potential locations for implementing nature-based solutions (NbS) in both urban and rural areas of Jayapura City. …

College athletics are a multi-billion dollar industry in the United States, but how well do university athletic programs employ their resources? The question is germane in light of increasing costs of higher education and scrutiny of university budgets. This study furnishes a template to weigh the tradeoffs inherent in collegiate sports, which is the main contribution of the paper. A dataset of 117 American college football programs from 2011-2015 is analyzed using DEA and AHP methods to assess the efficiency and perception of these programs. The result is the aforementioned framework measuring the programs' success and answers the question of …
Innovation And Market Leadership In A Technology Industry, Wilson Zehr
Innovation And Market Leadership In A Technology Industry, Wilson Zehr
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
According to the Abernathy-Utterback (A-U) model, firms focus on technological product innovation early in the product lifecycle and then shift to process innovation as markets mature. However, there is no consensus on the forms that non-technological innovation can take. In addition, the A-U model, which guides innovators, does not include forms of non-technological innovation that are generally accepted by experts. In this study, a hybrid e-Delphi technique with an AHP decision model was used to evaluate the forms of innovation used to establish market leadership over the historical lifecycle of the personal computer industry in the United States. In Phase …

For the PhD guide or the advisor selecting the accurate PhD scholar is the most elephantine task. It actually requires an art for the perfect selection; as the length, breadth, depth and volume of PhD work is spread across the years and this relationship between the scholar and the guide should start and flourish positively for the immense experience throughout the PhD process. Hence it was essential to understand bibliometric details including how many researchers have already published their contributions in the form of papers and patents, in the Scopus database. In addition to the bibliometric details, in this study, …
Aesthetic Perception Of Urban Spaces: New York, Timur Pozhidaev
Aesthetic Perception Of Urban Spaces: New York, Timur Pozhidaev
Theses and Dissertations
Aesthetic perception is an important field of interest in many aspects of everyday human life. It affects individual and social unconscious behavior and is strongly related to the decision-making processes in the human mind. The current study can serve as an important prototype for planning purposes and social and environmental justice among the regional units of New York City. With the current scientific sphere lacking a comprehensive methodology for assessing social superstructure, an aesthetic framework has the potential for success in evaluating the aspects of sustainable and resilient urban development.

Developing A Decision-Making Framework For Web Service Security Profiles: A Design-Science Paradigm, Mutaz M. Al-Debei, Bachar Alrouh, Gheorghita Ghinea
Dr. Mutaz M. Al-Debei
In this paper, we provide a novel analytical hierarchy process decision-making framework for Web service security profiles. This framework aids in solving the dilemma of which Web service security profile is most fitting in a particular situation. This is because the developed framework allows architects and developers to take informed decisions following a systematic and manageable approach. In developing the framework, we followed the design-science research paradigm within which we incorporated a number of laboratory experiments.

The purpose of this study is to identify critical factors for successful Six-Sigma implementation by using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) approach. Twenty-one experts, consisting of three-project champions and eighteen-black belts from five multinational companies (Singapore, Japan, and USA) locating in Thailand, were interviewed. The study has gone through four phases, including: (1) determining critical factors and performance measures in Six-Sigma implementation; (2) structuring the problem and building the AHP model; (3) collecting data from expert interviews; and (4) determining the normalized priority weights of individual factors and sub-factors. Expert Choice software was used to compute the normalized and unique …
