We Could Be Unicorns Human Services Leaders Moving From Managing Programs To Managing Information Ecosystems.Pdf, Lauri Goldkind, John Mcnutt

Lauri Goldkind

The availability and accessibility of all kinds of data are changing the landscape of funding, service delivery, and program planning in the human services. For human service organizations to succeed in a quickly changing data landscape, new skills will be required of leaders as well as line staff. This commentary describes the information ecosystem, skills, and training needs of those wishing to thrive in this new world and closes with questions to consider for faculty, students, and administrators in the human services sector.

Where Does Data Science Research Stand In The 21st Century: Observation From The Standpoint Of A Scientometric Analysis, Arindam Sarkar Mr., Ashok Pal Mr. Apr 2019

Where Does Data Science Research Stand In The 21st Century: Observation From The Standpoint Of A Scientometric Analysis, Arindam Sarkar Mr., Ashok Pal Mr.

Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)

In this scientometric study through the meticulous analysis of year and language wise distribution of publications, document type wise distribution of contributions, year wise citation analysis and country wise productivity in the field of data science research, an effort has been made to delineate a vibrant image of the present condition of data science research. Data have been collected from Scopus database for the purpose of the study. The study reflects that among the total 3793 publications on data science, the highest number of publications i.e. 604, were published in 2018 and lowest number of publications i.e.42, were published in …

A Practitioner Survey Exploring The Value Of Forensic Tools, Ai, Filtering, & Safer Presentation For Investigating Child Sexual Abuse Material, Laura Sanchez, Cinthya Grajeda, Ibrahim Baggili, Cory Hall Jan 2019

A Practitioner Survey Exploring The Value Of Forensic Tools, Ai, Filtering, & Safer Presentation For Investigating Child Sexual Abuse Material, Laura Sanchez, Cinthya Grajeda, Ibrahim Baggili, Cory Hall

Electrical & Computer Engineering and Computer Science Faculty Publications

For those investigating cases of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), there is the potential harm of experiencing trauma after illicit content exposure over a period of time. Research has shown that those working on such cases can experience psychological distress. As a result, there has been a greater effort to create and implement technologies that reduce exposure to CSAM. However, not much work has explored gathering insight regarding the functionality, effectiveness, accuracy, and importance of digital forensic tools and data science technologies from practitioners who use them. This study focused specifically on examining the value practitioners give to the tools …

Data Collection Curated With An Application Ontology Describes The Methods And Results Upon Performing An Ex-Vivo Voltage-Clamp Assay On Outer Hair Cells Of The Mammalian Cochlea, Brenda Farrell, Jason Bengtson Jan 2019

Data Collection Curated With An Application Ontology Describes The Methods And Results Upon Performing An Ex-Vivo Voltage-Clamp Assay On Outer Hair Cells Of The Mammalian Cochlea, Brenda Farrell, Jason Bengtson

Research Data

This data collection describes the electrical properties of outer hair cells isolated from the mammalian cochlea of the domestic guinea pig. This data was obtained by performing whole-cell patch clamp voltage clamp assay on cells and monitoring the electrical admittance during a DC voltage ramp. The membrane capacitance was then calculated at each membrane potential from this admittance, and the voltage-independent and voltage-dependent membrane capacitance was determined upon further analysis. In some case the DC conductance was also measured by interrogation of the cell with voltage-step function which was calculated from the change in the mean steady-state current with respect …
