Hearing positive reports about a projected increase in fall enrollment and significant growth in fundraising, Ouachita Baptist University’s Board of Trustees also adopted a 2017-18 budget and approved five-year enrollment goals during their June 8 summer meeting on campus.
Noting that “we’re continuing to think about the future of Ouachita,” President Ben Sells emphasized that “growing and strengthening the university – dreaming a larger dream for Ouachita – requires considerable work by faculty, staff and trustees and significant support by alumni and friends.”

For college and research libraries, a major 21st century transformation has been the spending shift from print materials to electronic resources. This shift has triggered ongoing conversations about resource allocation at many institutions. Common assumptions that are drawn from these general trends:
• Spending on the sciences has increased at the expense of the humanities
• Spending on serials has increased at the expense of monographs
Overly simple expenditure codes that merely distinguish print from electronic do not allow these assumptions to be tested. This poster will demonstrate how a 2013 revision of expenditure codes used in the library’s acquisitions …

In the wake of budgetary restraints, many local government organizations are examining existing sources of revenue to exhaust available streams without increasing constituents' financial burden. Some of these revenue streams include nontraditional sources, such as traffic citations, yet little research has explored the implications of revenue generated from fines from traffic citations. Using the theory of resource dependence as the foundation, the purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between the estimated population of the county, the unemployment rate of the county, and the personal income per capita against the number of traffic citations issued and the Florida …
