The purpose of this study was to assess the reasons community gardeners at Jones Valley Urban Farm in Birmingham, Alabama participate in the community garden program, as well as to explore the potential impacts such participation has on the members’ health, community, and diet. Twenty active gardeners participated in four focus groups. Gardeners reported prior experience, cost savings, taste, sustainability issues, and provision of fresh and organic food as reasons for participating. Gardeners also reported issues related to sharing, community development, mental health, personal pride, perceived health benefits, and new - found food variety as impacts of their participation. The purpose of this grounded theory study was to explain the perceptions of semi - nomadic pastoralists in East Africa, who self - identified as having the characteristics of the most vulnerable, and who were educationally successful. This study identified motivating factors that contributed to resiliency while in the pursuit of an education. A better understanding of how male Jordanian psychiatric nurses become smokers and continue the habit mainly at work is necessary if smoking reduction and cessation programs are to help them better manage their smoking behaviours. This study is a collaborative investigation that melds traditional qualitative social scientific and contemporary autoethnographic methods to examine diversified mentoring relationships at a midsized midwestern state university (MMSU). The first author conducted 21 semi - structured interview s with MMSU faculty members and professional personnel who were members of underrepresented minority (URM) groups. Romantic love is considered a necessary ingredient in marriage. In this study, the experience of falling out of romantic love with one’s spouse was examined. Eight individuals who had fallen out of romantic love with their spouse were interviewed. By using Moustakas’ Transcendental Phenomenological method, several themes emerged which provided a description of the experience of the phenomena. These themes included loss of trust, of intimacy, and of feeling loved; emotional pain; and negative sense of self.
