The study assessed the role of Telecentres in the dissemination of agro-based information among selected farmers in rural areas of Tanzania. A cross-sectional study design was conducted in Moshi Rural District, in Kilimanjaro Region, Tanzania. A total of 442 rural farmers aged 21-60 years were randomly selected as study respondents. Questionnaires were used to collect data from respondents. The study found that 205 (55%) respondents were not aware of the existence and services offered among Telecentres, whereas only 12 (7%) respondents reported visiting Telecentres once per day, and 70 (41%) once per year. The purpose of this study was to investigate the usage patterns of OAIRs among university community members in Tanzania universities. The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model used to guide this study. The study employed a cross-sectional research design. Systematic random and purposive sampling procedures were used to obtain a total of 292 respondents and eight key informants respectively. This study assessed awareness of farmers on agricultural information services in Mara region in Tanzania. Quantitative approach was adopted and data collection used single structured questionnaire. Awareness scales measured three factors; awareness knowledge; agricultural information needs and lastly use of ICTs in accessing agricultural information services. The results indicated that majority (93.2%; 280) of respondents had little knowledge of awareness, (91.3%; 272) of the response, needed improved seed varieties and the average, (60%; 180) of respondents have low use of ICT in accessing agricultural information services. This study assessed the influence of attitude and subjective norm (injunctive and descriptive) on the intention to use open access journals (OAJ); and how personal innovativeness in information technology affects intention to use open access journals among researchers in Tanzanian Agricultural Research Institutes. This study employed the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) by Fishbein and Ajzen (1975), and the data was collected from 121 researchers through a cross-section survey questionnaire. Despite being major producers, they are still marginalized, do not have access to credit and considered un-bankable. Vodacom Tanzania LTD through its M-PESA Women Empowerment Initiative (MWEI) is reaching out to these marginalized rural women to empower them. This paper discusses the information needs of urban and peri-urban livestock keepers and the various information sources used and their effectiveness in disseminating livestock information. Mixed method approach was the methodology used in the study whereby quantitative data was gathered using questionnaires while qualitative data was gathered using in-depth interviews and participant observations. Findings from this study revealed that livestock keepers had various information needs such as disease control (95.3%), nutrition and feeds (62.2%), markets (56.3%), housing techniques (29.1%) and loans (20.1%). The survey aims to investigate the use of Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) among distance learners of the Open University of Tanzania. A descriptive research design has been adopted in the study. Stratified random sampling method was used to select randomly 300 distance learners. A structured questionnaire was developed and distributed randomly to 300 distance learners including undergraduate and postgraduate students. A total of 230 (76.67 percent) completed filled in questionnaires were returned back from the distance learners for analysis. This study assessed the information literacy (IL) instruction perceptions and practices of faculty at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences in Tanzania. An online survey was distributed to all faculty members in five schools and one institute at MUHAS (235 in total) from 2011 to 2012, with a response rate of (34.5 percent). The study findings show a general support for IL development, and its importance in enabling students to do library-based research. A study was conducted to assess the quality of websites of five selected public universities in Tanzania. The main purpose of the study was to understand the quality of university websites from users’ perspectives. This study employed a 22-item instrument measuring four dimensions of web quality namely technical adequacy, information quality, service ability and web appearance.
