This paper examines the provision of reference and information services to the physically challenged persons in Nigeria: Challenges and prospects. The article demystifies the conceptual framework of information services and physically challenged persons, the information needs of the physically challenged as a concept was succinctly analyzed and the attention or relegation received by this group of library users discussed. Electronic information resources (EIRs) referred to information that are available in electronic format. These resources are very useful in postgraduate education, but it was observed that some factors determined the use of these resources among the postgraduate students who are expected to use EIRs that are provided in libraries. Abstract
This study investigates illustrations use as a factor influencing reading comprehension of children's stories among pupils of selected primary schools in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. The study adopted the descriptive survey research design of Expost-facto type. The study population consists of 312 primary five and six pupils from which a total of 195 pupils were selected from five private secondary schools in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria adopting the systematic random sampling technique. The attitude of some of the library and information science instructors (LISIs) to continue to teach students with pedagogies not aligned with the changing trend in today’s information environment has been identified as one of the reasons why there is low job performance among librarians in their workplaces in Nigeria.
