This collection consists of materials spanning 1941-1947 and includes business records and correspondence of the Central of Georgia Railway Company as well as detailed reports of employees’ United States military service during World War II. These reports include employee military records, interviews conducted by Central of Georgia Railway Company of veteran employees, and letters expressing their gratitude for their service in the war. Irvin "Buzz" Caverly, Jr. began working at Baxter State Park in 1960 as Park Ranger I immediately after graduating from Lee Academy in Lee, Maine. In 1982, 22 years after first being hired as a ranger, Caverly was selected to be the Baxter State Park Director, a position he would remain in until his retirement in 2005. Caverly remained active with the park, accepting an appointment from Governor Baldacci in 2007 to serve as the Baxter Park Wilderness Trust Fund Commissioner.

The University of Maine's Peace and Reconciliation Studies (formerly known as Peace Studies) was established in the 1987/1988 academic year, with an interdisciplinary, global perspective with the goal to infuse concerns for peace into the campus community and beyond. The program is currently a part of the College of Education and Human Development having formerly been in the Division of Lifelong Learning. The program provided training in conflict resolution, campus mediation, maintained a lending library, and organized Peace Week events and special events on campus.

Roberts’ (1912-1989; representative from 1951-1965) time in office as a member of the US House of Representatives. Robert Underwood Johnson, author, conservationist, and diplomat, was born in New York in 1853. For more than forty years he was associated with The Century Magazine. Associate Editor under Richard Watson Gilder, he succeeded to the editorship from 1909-1913. Using the influence of The Century Magazine, Underwood, in conjunction with famed naturalist John Muir, was one of the driving forces behind the creation of Yosemite National Park in the California in 1890. In 1889, Johnson also encouraged Muir to "start an association" to help protect the Sierra Nevada, inspiring the formation of the Sierra Club in 1892. In 1920-1921 he …

This collection consists of papers of Bette B. Anderson from 1977-1981. The papers include general correspondence from the public or friends, chronological files (1977-1978) containing copies of Anderson's outgoing correspondence as Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, appointment books (1977-1980), photographs, clippings, and speeches (1977-1980) given by Anderson to various clubs and organizations or as Assistant Secretary of the Treasury. The materials document Anderson's duties in the Treasury Department during President Carter's administration and her interest in finance and banking.
