Water Resources Handbook For Economics, United States Department Of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service Jul 1998

Water Resources Handbook For Economics, United States Department Of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service

All U.S. Government Documents (Utah Regional Depository)

The purpose of the Water Resources Handbook for Economics is to provide guidance for the economic analysis of water resource projects. Established economic theory and principles, and the economic concepts stated in the Economic and Environmental Principles and Guidelines for Water and Related Land Resource Implementation Studies (P&G) serve as the primary foundation for this document. P&G was issued March 10, 1983, by the Water Resources Council. The economist must blend the economic principles with a good sense of practicality. Preparing to sign off on the term paper that’s almost overdue, I assemble the onion-sheets, clean, almost papyrus in their texture, collectively re/producing Professor Johnson’s paper: a critical review of David Copperfield. Don’t talk about what you liked, don’t talk about how you felt reading it, don’t talk about how it’s like other novels you’ve read. Just don’t talk: the honor code prohibits that. All of which means: figure out what my Ichabod Crane wants, read the text his way, write his paper, type it, submit.

Explaining The Uneven Penetration Ofindustrialization In The U.S. Dairy Sector, Douglas B. Jackson-Smith, F. H. Buttel

Sociology, Social Work and Anthropology Faculty Publications

Many now expect that dairying in the United States will be the next major livestock sector to succumb to the industrialization trend. This paper utilizes a multidimensional definition of industrialization to critically examine evidence for and against the dairy industrialization hypothesis. The authors find that while there is a persistent trend toward larger units of production, and a geographical shift towards states with more industriallike farm operations, the penetration of industrial relations of production has occurred more slowly …

Consumers who want to save interest charges on large loans, such as a home mortgage or auto loan, usually comparison shop for the "best deal." Comparison shopping for a credit card is also an excellent practice because terms and conditions of the account can make a difference in how much consumers pay for the privilege of borrowing. Consumers are often amazed at some of the "hidden" costs of some credit cards. With information in this fact sheet, Utahns can compare credit card terms they have already accepted with offers received in the mail and or over the telephone. The goal …
