The study investigated the information literacy competencies possessed by Library and Information Science (LIS) postgraduate students in Federal Universities in South East Zone Nigeria with a focus on the Knowledge and skill level. Descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. Seventy two students which included all 2011/2012 PhD and Masters degree students from the Departments of LIS in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka and University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Data was collected using Achievement Test and Questionnaire. Percentages, frequencies and mean rating were used to answer research questions. T-test was used to test hypotheses. Objective: perform a bibliometric characterization of Cuban research on information literacy (INFOLIT) based on the literature published from 2000 to 2013. Methods: substantiation was provided for conceptual notions about INFOLIT in the field of library and information sciences, and some interesting research antecedents were explored. Sixty-seven papers identified by the Ibero-America-Cuba INFOLIT Wiki-Repository were examined with the bibliometric indicators yearly productivity, authors, journals and term co-occurrence analysis, as well as type of documents cited, and most commonly cited journals and authors. The present article shows the results of a survey aimed at identifying the informational abilities of Havana University students. Several methods such as the survey, expert’s interviews and content and document analysis are used. The questionnaire has been structured base on three basic variables: information search, information analysis and release and self-evaluation elements. The identification of these abilities was a key element for guiding libraries in the development of actions focused on their communities.

Librarians at National Louis University have been engaged with stakeholders for the past four years to integrate Information Literacy into the undergraduate curriculum that goes beyond traditional instruction. The outcome was a 2 credit course on Digital Information Literacy now required in three undergraduate degree programs. This cross-cultural study has two main purposes: to investigate how information literacy is perceived in the workplace and to discover how employees obtain information to carry out their jobs in an effective and timely fashion. Declining reference statistics, diminishing human resources, and the desire to be more proactive and embedded in academic depart- ments, prompted the University of South Florida Library to create a taskforce for re-envisioning reference services. The taskforce was charged with examining the staffing patterns at the desk and developing recommendations to give librarians greater flexibility and to better respond to the information-seeking needs of users. These recommendations were based on statistics of desk usage, collected with the newly adapted online tool Desk Tracker, and structured interviews with library administrators. Introduction
We explore the use of a psychometric model for locally-relevant, information literacy assessment, using an online tool for standardised assessment of student learning during discipline-based library instruction sessions.

Method
A quantitative approach to data collection and analysis was used, employing standardised multiple-choice survey questions followed by individual, cognitive interviews with undergraduate students. The assessment tool was administered to five general education psychology classes during library instruction sessions.

Analysis
Descriptive statistics were generated by the assessment tool. Results. The assessment tool proved a feasible means of measuring student learning. While student scores improved on every survey question, there was uneven …

Purpose – Effective integration of information literacy skills into the business curriculum requires the development of collaborative partnerships between teaching faculty and librarians. Developing a good partnership requires an understanding of the teaching faculty's perspectives. This paper aims to address these issues. Design/methodology/approach – A survey was sent to business teaching faculty at California State Universities to determine their expectations in regards to student information literacy skills.
