This paper presents a citation analysis of Internext-Review of International Business to detect the impact caused by papers published for the period 2006-2013. The Publish or Perish (PoP) software is used, which retrieves articles and citations from Google Scholar database. As part of the applied indicators are: the distribution of authors by articles, citations per year, citation vs. self-citation, journal’s citable vs. non citable documents, journal’s cited vs. uncited documents, co-word analysis, and H Index. This study seeks to clarify research trends related to marketing in the field of information disciplines from Latin American scientific production. As a reference source, we used the electronic journals indexed in the Latindex Directory. Some bibliometric indicators were applied to 108 documents; these indicators were as follows: productivity by year, journals, authors, language, and finally term cooccurrence analysis. It was evident that the highest rate of productivity was found in Brazilian journals and authors, and in the Portuguese language. Objective: perform a bibliometric characterization of Cuban research on information literacy (INFOLIT) based on the literature published from 2000 to 2013. Methods: substantiation was provided for conceptual notions about INFOLIT in the field of library and information sciences, and some interesting research antecedents were explored. Sixty-seven papers identified by the Ibero-America-Cuba INFOLIT Wiki-Repository were examined with the bibliometric indicators yearly productivity, authors, journals and term co-occurrence analysis, as well as type of documents cited, and most commonly cited journals and authors. The study aims to identify the possibilities offered by academic studies in Cuba for the training of information professionals as marketing managers. A theoretical analysis is conducted of the basic functions of marketing and its information dimension, the specific features of the work of the marketing manager, and the competencies developed by Curriculum D in information science graduates in the Cuban context. Based on the analysis of curricular contents and interviews with ten information professionals working as marketing managers, determination was made of some indispensable competencies which should be developed during the training and later on during service practice.

The study, based on a documental classic analysis, presents conceptual and methodological guidelines concerning the design of methodologies that help to measure the quality of information that is managed in organizations. It is described the process of information management and the importance of implementing quality principles in it. There are exposed the four dimensions of information quality as part of an indicators integration which characterize the informational contents. There are defined each of the phases in the methodological design to evaluate the information. There also are indicated the implications of this activity for information professionals.

Theoretical aspects associated with the design of information literacy programs are boarded. Classic documentary analysis is used as a research method. It makes the case for implementing these programs in the university context. The results of an assessment of the skill level of University of Havana students are presented. The present article shows the results of a survey aimed at identifying the informational abilities of Havana University students. Several methods such as the survey, expert’s interviews and content and document analysis are used. The questionnaire has been structured base on three basic variables: information search, information analysis and release and self-evaluation elements. The identification of these abilities was a key element for guiding libraries in the development of actions focused on their communities.
