Inspired by the 2011 Arab Spring events in Tunisia, cries of the regional chant “al-sha’ab yurid isqat al-nizam” (the people want to bring down the regime) were echoing in several MENA countries. Targeted demonstrations were aimed to express people’s dissatisfaction with the political and socioeconomic conditions within their countries. This Qualitative study aims to discover and analyze the psychological, economic, social and physical effects of the Corona pandemic on older people, specifically those who reside in nursing homes. The qualitative approach was used, and 16 in-depth interviews were conducted with older women and men in August 2021 using the convenience sample. The current study attempts to explore the asymmetric long-run equilibrium relationship between trade and financial openness and financial development, especially in banking sector. Using Jordanian data, over the period 1980 to 2019. The study has found evidence of asymmetry pattern in the relationship between trade and financial openness and the credit to private sector ratio. From estimation of error-correction model, the adjustment back to equilibrium is more rapid following relative increase in trade and financial openness compared to relative decrease in trade and financial openness

This research investigated the impact of media and information literacy (MIL) on education faculty students’ acquisition of the skills needed to detect fake news. A one-group experimental design was employed with a randomly selected sample of 100 Jordanian undergraduate students. The participants completed one pre-test and two post-tests, each of which consisted of 10 closed-ended questions and one open-ended question on how to detect fake news. The results indicated that studying MIL has an impact on students’ acquisition of the skills needed to detect fake news. The research focused on the effectiveness of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) within four chapters.

The first chapter explained the history behind the creation of the UPR, the UPR process, the role of Un Human Rights Council in the process, UPR procedures and how it is implemented.

The second chapter discussed the challenges that the UPR process is facing, states’ interaction with this new mechanism and how the UN Human Rights Council reacted and dealt with states that did not cooperate with UPR procedures.

The Levant’s Decapolis was a network of ten cities in Greco-Roman Israel, Jordan, and Syria that established a thriving economic community. The Decapolis was home to ancient and modern cities like Damascus (Dammásq) and Amman (Philadelphia). Despite the various origins of these cities, Roman administration and their city planners oversaw the implementation of idealized Roman city form throughout the region. Three Decapolis cities represent intriguing examples of the larger confederation. Philadelphia (Amman), Gerasa (Jerash), and Gadara (Umm Qais) represent cities of common original urban form which developed drastically diverse urban morphologies over time.
