Taylor delivered a session full of tips and tricks for gathering information and keeping it all organized in the age of info-overload. Portions of the session focused on apps, cloud storage, label systems, customizing news alerts and developing your own trusted method for intake and synthesis. Specific applications that were discussed in greater detail included Evernote, Pocket, OneNote and AirTable. Attendee's walked away with ideas about how to best manage their own busy inboxes, news and articles by off-loading working memory anxiety's to a personal system that fits their professional life needs.

Marine History For The Environment's Future: The Archives Of The Virginia Institute Of Marine Science, Kathleen Mccallister, Carol Coughlin

The collective body of marine information and historical knowledge is critical both for developing future studies and for evaluating changes in and threats to marine environments. Originally established in 1940, the Virginia Institute of Marine Science initially began gathering works related to the coastal and estuarine environments.

The current-day William J. Hargis, Jr. Library serves the Institute and the broader scientific community by providing access to such knowledge. Its print and expanding digital collections, and particularly its archives, furnish its patrons and scholars throughout the world with decades of information and research in the marine sciences.

Mission Statement of Nebraska Planning Committee: The planning committee of the Legislature is charged with establishing and maintaining a future focus on the priorities of the state. Its responsibility is to assure continuity of policy to achieve long term goals. The committee will do so by collecting and analyzing data about Nebraska, including, but not limited to, demographics, workforce, education, wages, wealth, tax structure, revenue, natural resources, assets, challenges, trends, and growth and efficiency of government; identifying long-term issues significant to the state; setting goals and benchmarks; issuing a yearly report of the committee’s findings; and proposing legislation.
