Forging sustainable school counseling programs is the essential foundation for school counselors leadership in creating equitable programming. Transformative school leadership and transformational school counselors' leadership is crucial in creating sustainable programming, increasing positive school culture, and propelling systemic change in the school. Through an ecological perspective, positive working relationships can be achieved between school leadership and school counselors.

Cultural Diversity Awareness: Perceptions Of Community Residents And Police Personnel, Vickie Minnifield Greene

This study examined the difference in self-reported perceptions of cultural diversity awareness between two specific groups, community residents and police personnel, within a Midwestern city’s community and police department. This study also measured how their attitudes related to their likelihood to assist in enhancing the goals of community policing, which includes the prevention of crime. Literature cited demonstrates that social injustice toward African Americans and Latinos, cultural diversity ignorance, miscommunication, and lack of trust between community residents and police personnel are indicators that their relationships require positive solutions toward repairing a historically strained relationship. This survey was initiated to explore the perceptions and daily practices of Applied behavior Analytic ABA) by educators supporting exceptional learners in public and private school settings in Pennsylvania. This survey explores the degree to which educators are trained, feel confident in and actually carry out a range evidenced based practices following an ABA approach. Results are also presented in regards to barriers that educators feel limit the delivery of ABA based approaches and undermine the fidelity of interventions once introduced in their professional settings.

Repositories are playing a key role in facilitating these new relationships by enabling libraries to offer new and valuable services to these constituencies. This presentation describes the ways that the Sturgis Library at Kennesaw State University has used both journal and conference publishing services to foster these partnerships.
