ABSTRACT

The study was designed to investigate the factors driving the academics to engage in work-related knowledge sharing activity using a conceptual model adapted from Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) of Ajzen (1991) and the two affective components (affective commitment and affect-based trust). A descriptive survey research design covering academics in all departments of the five faculties in The Polytechnic, Ibadan was employed.The literature review covered knowledge management KM, knowledge sharing KS and knowledge sharing behaviour KSB. Drawing on the diffusion of innovation (DOI) theory as well as on the emerging literature on RFID technology, this study explores a set of technological, organizational and environmental characteristics that will play an important role in the RFID adoption decision process within the Saudi retail industry. Results of data collected among seven (7) Saudi large-scale retailers are presented and discussed, together with the implications for research and practice.
