Seton Hall University Dissertations and Theses (ETDs)

This correlational, explanatory, cross-sectional study explains the influence of neighborhoods’ structural determinants on the rate of violent crimes in New York City’s communities. Guided by the theoretical foundation of social disorganization theory, the variables in this study included the economically disadvantaged, racial/ethnic heterogeneity, residential instability/mobility, and the level of educational attainment. The statistical analysis in this study included correlational matrix and simultaneous multiple regression model (ordinary least squares). Seton Hall University Dissertations and Theses (ETDs)
Abstract This capstone project involved an alumni assessment of the Master of Public Administration Program offered by the Center For Public Service at Seton Hall University. Questionnaires were mailed to over 500 alumni and approximately 23.4% were returned. The responses from the alumni indicate that the MP A Program has met its mission and successfully prepared its students for their careers. Although not the focus of the literature review, the Center's MHA program is also assessed.
