Through an advertisement on television, Faribo heard about the Jaipur Foot Camp and decided to see what it had to offer her. At the camp, she received a light and comfortable prosthesis.

Peacebuilding and post-conflict reconstruction are multi-disciplinary from a governance, organizational behavior, executive development and field perspective. Rarely, though, are the tools of competitive advantage, project planning and conflict resolution software used to seek linkages with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to coordinate resources, particularly to integrate the disparate sectors of landmine and UXO clearance, victim assistance and resourcing across industries. Survivors of physically disfiguring trauma, regardless of the cause, have experienced a series of assaults on the mind as well as on the body that present extraordinary challenges to human resilience. For the past 17 years, one of the authors (Dr. Blakeney) has worked closely with children and adults who have been severely burned.
