In contrast with the traditional “build it and they will come” approach, the library collaborated with campus faculty and staff and successfully demonstrated to campus administration the need to establish an institutional repository despite fiscal limitations. The presentation reveals some successful strategies to develop a sustainable repository.

To better understand the university research and teaching needs, the University Institutional Repository Committee conducted a study entitled: "Faculty and Staff's Awareness of Digital Commons @Otterbein Repository Service for Teaching and Research" in 2015. This campus presentation demonstrated the survey results of the study.
