An Assessment Of Air Quality In And Around Gwagwalada Abattoir, Gwagwalada, Abuja, Fct., John Yakubu Magaji Phd

This work attempted an assessment of air quality in and around Gwagwalada abattoir. Air samples were collected from six points around the abattoir and recorded insitu for analysis. The following parameters were investigated; Particulate Matter (PM), Carbon monoxide (CO), Sulphur dioxide (SO2), Nitrogen dioxide (NO2), Ammonia (NH3), Chlorine (CL2) and Hydrogen cyanide. The statistical test employed was the Student t-test in verifying the hypothesis. The issue Community Driven Development is presented as tool for effective community development at the grassroots in Kwara State. This paper draws on field research on conservation based field observation in which the authors had to visit some of the project locations to ascertain the availability of the project. This research work is an attempt to assess “the Socio–economic Impact of Gurara dam on the surrounding communities”. This dam is located within two local governments that shared boundary; these are Kagarko and Kachia local governments in Kaduna state. The study investigates the impact of the dam construction on agricultural production and occupation of the people of the study area as well as the benefits derived. It also examines the extent of resettlement and compensation. Survey method was adapted, the respondents were selected randomly. An Assessment Of The Relationship Between Rainfall Variability And Rice Production In Bida And Its Environs, K Dangana, L H. Muhammed

The study assessed the relationship between rainfall variability and rice production in Bida and its environs. Primary data for this research was weather record of the area obtained from National Cereal Research Institute Badeggi,Bida and direct oral interview with the rice farmers on rice yield for period of 10 years. Observations were taking across rice farms in 10 villages, and relevant literature on rainfall variability of the study area was consulted. The result indicates that 7.7 % of rainfall variability led to a great lost of 34.7 %; indicating that changing pattern of rainfall affects rice production. The resultant low …
