Estimating Variations In Metabolic Cost Within The Stride Cycle During Level And Uphill Walking, Arash Mohammadzadeh Gonabadi

Indirect calorimetry provides the average cost of a stride cycle and prevents from identifying which part of the gait cycle causes increased metabolic cost in patients, however, recent simulation methods allow estimating the time profile of metabolic cost within the stride cycle. In this study, we compare the estimations of the time profile of the metabolic cost of two simulation methods for level and uphill walking. We used kinematic, kinetic and electromyography data from level and uphill walking (one participant) to estimate the time profiles of metabolic cost using the muscle-level metabolic model of Umberger using electromyography and kinematic data …

In this session, members of the NISO Discovery to Delivery Topic Committee will discuss NISO projects, recommendations and standards dealing with hot topics around discovery and access of electronic content. Presentations will include updates on open access discovery, specifically the recommended practice Access and License Indicators (ALI) and discussion of a new project proposal regarding discoverability of open access material. In addition, we will discuss two new projects. The first involves automatic transfer of packages and institutional entitlements from information providers to knowledge bases for the identification of institutional access rights using the KBART recommended practice. The 2015 Midwest Data Librarian Symposium was the inaugural launch of this now widely-attended un-conference series. Attendees were encouraged to submit lightning presentations on local developments in the area of data management support from within their Libraries. This brief presentation highlighted early work undertaken to develop a checklist that my role as Metadata & Digital Curation could make use of to navigate faculty researcher questions that arise when considering where to store and maintain research data during active stages of any given sponsored research project.
