In May of 2017, Moore Archeological Consulting, Inc. conducted an intensive pedestrian survey for the proposed improvements to the earthen embankment and control structure on the Lower Greens Bayou Regional Detention Facility in northeast Harris County, Texas. The project is located south of North Houston Parkway, extending south to 0.81 kilometers (km) (0.5 miles [mi.]) north of Tidwell Road, just west of Jon Ralston Road. It can be found on the Jacinto City (299515) and Harmaston quadrangles (299507) [see attached figures]. At the request of the San Jacinto Museum of History Association, Gray & Pape, Inc., of Houston, Texas, conducted an archaeological survey of approximately 8.2 hectares (20.3 acres) in support of a potential future construction location for a museum and visitors center. The project area consisted of two polygon boundaries, Area A and Area B, located southwest of the San Jacinto Monument. Area A was further subdivided into three sections for ease of analysis.

On behalf of Design Workshop, Inc. and the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center (HANC), SWCA Environmental Consultants (SWCA) conducted an intensive archaeological survey of the proposed HANC improvements in Harris County, Texas. The portion of the HANC to be affected by the proposed improvements consists of an approximately 55-acre area (project area) located in the northern third of the overall 155-acre HANC. Archaeological investigations were conducted in compliance with the Antiquities Code of Texas under Antiquities Permit No. 7592 and with guidelines set forth by the Texas Historical Commission (THC).

Stone Point Services completed a cultural resources survey for a proposed 55-hectare (137-acre) county park in Cypress, Texas. The study area consists of an irregularly shaped former subdivision located southwest of Grant Road in Cypress, Texas. The project area is primarily wooded with mature oaks and pines mixed with a few ornamental trees and is bounded to the northwest by Cypress Creek. Field investigations were conducted between July 27 and July 28, 2017. Survey methods included a pedestrian archaeological survey with shovel testing. In total, 117 shovel tests were excavated within the survey area, representing one shovel test per 1.2-acres, …

In May 2008, PBSJ (now Atkins North America, Inc.), was contracted by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), to conduct archaeological impact evaluations and surveys for the Houston and Beaumont Districts under Contract 578-XX-SA004. This contract was for on-demand services, with specific work defined by individual work authorizations. However, all investigations were subsumed under a single Texas Antiquities Permit (No. 4925) for the contract, with Michael Nash serving as Principal Investigator during fieldwork. Four work authorizations were issued, but only three surveys were conducted due to a refusal of Right-of-Entry on one job. All fieldwork was conducted between October 2008 …

Harris County plans to extend Center Street from its current position just south of the intersection at Fairmont Parkway to residential area across Armand Bayou. As a result of public funding and property involved with the proposed project, an intensive pedestrian survey of the proposed linear right-of-way was conducted to complete permitting requirements of the Antiquities Code of Texas, enforced by the Texas Historical Commission. The survey was performed under Antiquities Permit Number 7067, issued to David M. Yelacic, who also carried out fieldwork and subsequent reporting.

The project is approximately 7.7 miles or 12.4 kilometers (km) in length and has a typical width of between 100 to 300 feet (ft) or 30 to 91 meters (m); the project will be up to 1,000 ft or 305 m wide at detention pond locations. This report documents the exhumation and reburial of three historic graves within the right of way of Interstate Highway 10 (IH-10) near the intersection of Eldridge Drive. Called the Eldridge or Oscar Abstein Cemetery, historic research indicated that three to four graves probably existed near station marker 581+75 within the area of improvements that the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) proposed to IH-10. The San Jacinto Battleground State Historical Park is located in Harris County, about 20 miles (32 kilometers) east of downtown Houston. The park is situated adjacent the San Jacinto River and about five miles (eight kilometers) northwest of where the river empties into Galveston Bay. The park is comprised of a little over 1,100 acres (hectares) that have been accumulated over the years, beginning in 1883. Prehistoric Site 41HR564, located in Harris County, Texas, near Keegans Bayou and US Highway 59, was tested in August 1985 to determine eligibility for inclusion within the National Register of Historic Places and State Archaeological Landmark status. Testing also was conducted to ascertain site depth and archaeological significance. No cultural materials were recovered as a result of the test and no further investigations are recommended.
