(Horizon) conducted an intensive cultural resources survey of the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) jurisdictional areas within Chesapeake Energy Corporation’s (Chesapeake) proposed San Lorenzo Creek bridge right-of-way (ROW) in southwestern Dimmit County, Texas (Project Area). Although the Project Area will be located entirely on private property and will be developed with private funds, its construction will require the usage of a Nationwide Permit (NWP) issued by the USACE. On August 8 and 12, 2014, an intensive archeological survey was completed in order to evaluate potential archeological impacts associated with the proposed construction of a new natural gas generation facility within a 98.43-acre (39.8-hectare) parcel in Ellis and Hill Counties, Texas. Melissa M. Green (Principal Investigator) and Bill Bond of Cox|McLain Environmental Consulting, Inc. (CMEC) carried out the survey for Brazos Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. (BEPC) and the United States Department of Agriculture, Rural Utilities Service (USDA-RUS) under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), as amended. A Texas Antiquities Permit was not required.

Hicks & Company archaeologists, working on behalf of Travis County, recently conducted an archaeological survey for the proposed Cameron Road Improvements Project from Gregg Lane to State Highway (SH) 130, in Travis County, Texas (Figure 1). According to current design plans, the existing two-lane road is to be expanded to a four-lane arterial road. The existing roadway is an undivided facility with one travel lane in each direction and no shoulders. The proposed project would construct two 3.50 meter (11 feet) wide lanes in each direction, bike lanes, concrete curbs and gutters, and sidewalks on both sides of the road. …

On December 3, 2014, an archeologist with Prewitt and Associates, Inc., conducted an intensive archeological survey of two parcels totaling 13.5 acres in Round Rock in southern Williamson County, Texas. The survey was completed prior to proposed residential development on Lots 3 and 6 in Turtle Creek Village, just west of A. W. Grimes Boulevard.

The survey found that the project area has been extensively disturbed by cultivation, erosion, earthmoving, and the channelization of Dry Branch Creek, which bisects the project area. Fourteen shovel tests excavated in the project area encountered no archeological materials; many of them identified areas of …

The proposed development includes approximately 2.25 miles of pipeline. The project is entirely on University Lands managed by The University of Texas System. As University Lands is a political subdivision of the State of Texas, all work was conducted to comply with the Antiquities Code of Texas (ACT) under Texas Antiquities Permit No. 7152.

The right-of-way extends from the existing Fort Lancaster substation in Pecos County on old Highway 290 near the Pecos River Bridge to the existing Friend Ranch substation on Interstate 10 a few miles east of Ozona. The investigations consisted of an intensive terrestrial cultural resources survey for a proposed 13.13‐mile, 20‐inch‐diameter natural gas pipeline, which originates near the Gibbons Creek Reservoir and terminates at a new gas‐processing facility west of the Navasota River. (Atkins) conducted an intensive cultural resources survey of a 23-acre tract in northwestern Travis County, Texas, between the cities of Jonestown and Cedar Park. The project area is proposed for future construction of Leander Independent School District’s Travisso School Project. This investigation was conducted under Texas Antiquities Permit No. 7093. No cultural resources sites were located, and no artifacts were collected. Field records will be curated at the Texas Archeological Research Laboratory. Cultural resource clearance is recommended for the project.

The archaeological investigation conducted by HDR consisted of a survey of the APE to determine the presence/absence of archaeological resources by employing pedestrian survey and photo-documentation. Covering an area of 40.36 acres (16.33 hectares), the project would improve localized flooding within the 100-year floodplain by creating overflow channels, and in some locations, by deepening and widening the existing channel bottom. The northern boundary of the project area is the South Alamo Street Bridge, and the southern boundary is the confluence with Apache-Alazán Creek. On December 4, 2014, an archeologist with Prewitt and Associates, Inc., conducted an archeological survey of a small property in northwest Austin in Williamson County, Texas. The work was performed for the proposed residential development of a 9.3-acre parcel of private property just west of Lake Creek at the intersection of Parmer Lane and Sage Grouse Drive. The field investigation was limited to the edges of the project area due to ongoing earthmoving and residential construction, which had extensively disturbed and reworked almost all of the parcel.

Hicks & Company archaeologists, working on behalf of HowCo, Incorporated, and Haskell County (the County), recently conducted an intensive archaeological survey for the County’s proposed Paint Creek Water Improvements Project, located east of downtown Haskell in Haskell County, Texas. According to current design plans, the proposed project consists of the installation of a new water well and approximately 3,670 meters (m) of new, 15 centimeterdiameter, waterline within a 10 meter-wide corridor (Appendix A: Design Plans). Depth of impacts for the waterline installation is expected to be no more than 1.25 meters below ground surface.

From April to June 2014, personnel from Prewitt and Associates, Inc., conducted an archeological and historical resources survey for Camino Real Fuels, L.L.C., of the North American Coal Corporation and the Dos Republicas Coal Partnership (DRCP) within 1,460 acres of land at the Eagle Pass Mine in Maverick County, Texas. The archeological survey resulted in the discovery and documentation of 16 previously unrecorded sites. Of the 16 sites, 15 are prehistoric Native American sites, and 1 is an artifact scatter associated with a complex of ruinous buildings. This report documents the substantive findings and management recommendations of a cultural resource inventory conducted by Integrated Environmental Solutions, LLC (IES) for the Bear Creek Industrial Phase I project in Euless, Tarrant County, Texas. As the project will occur on the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport property, the DFW International Airport will need approval from the Federal Aviation Administration to modify their Airport Layout Plan (ALP) to reflect the permanent alterations. 0n December 2, 2014, an intensive archeological survey was completed in order to evaluate potential archeological impacts associated with the proposed construction of a new electrical substation within an approximately 20-acre (8-hectare) parcel in Little Elm, Denton County, Texas. Melissa M. Green (Principal Investigator) of Cox|McLain Environmental Consulting, Inc. (CMEC) carried out the survey for Brazos Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. (BEPC) and the United States Department of Agriculture, Rural Utilities Service (USDA-RUS) under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), as amended. In early April 2015, Turpin and Sons Inc. (TAS) archeologists assessed the cultural resource potential of a 2.1-mile long, 100-foot wide West Texas Gas (WTG) Benedum EP 46-19 ROW and pump station on University Lands (UL) in north central Crockett County. The proposed ROWs consist of an E-W poly line (0.6-miles long) and a N-S steel line (1.5-mile long) starting at an existing station and running south and southeast to an extant gas plant. An archaeological survey of the proposed 209 acre City of Temple Recycling and Disposal Facility Expansion Project in Bell County, Texas was performed by Ed Baxter Consulting in January and February of 2015. Edward P. Baxter was the Principal Investigator and the Project Archaeologist. This study was carried out under Texas Antiquities Committee Permit Number 7143. The project area was investigated using the pedestrian survey method supported by shovel testing. In all, the project area consisted of 209 acres.
