Forty-four similar sized maxillary lateral incisor teeth were randomly divided into four equal groups to test their resistance to fracture. Group 1 teeth were the controls, no treatment was done. Group 2 teeth consisted of endodontically treated teeth, restored with composite resin in the access opening. Group 3 teeth were endodontically treated and restored with a post and flat surface standardized aluminum crown. The teeth in Group 4 were endodontically treated and restored with a post and composite resin core buildup with a cast gold crown.
