A Spectroscopic Investigation Of Excited States Of The Nucleus 73br, Brigid Esposito

Gamma rays emitted in the de-excitation of the nucleus ⁷³Br were created in two distinct experiments. Using Gammasphere and Microball, the first experiment selected nuclei created in the reaction for an incident ⁴⁰Ca beam and a ⁴⁰Ca target that were coincident with the creation of 1 a particle, 3 protons, and 4 gamma rays. These results were analyzed using a gating procedure that allowed for the validation of published level schemes and the identification of new rotational bands in the level scheme.
