During the month of August 2008, 10 ozonesondes were launched from Hokkaido University in Sapporo, Japan as part of a study to examine regional pollution during the Olympic period. Seven of these soundings included a second instrument with a filter designed to remove SO2 from the intake air stream. SO2 interferes with the normal chemistry of the electrochemical cell (ECC) method for ozone detection, with the net result being that each molecule of SO2 registers as minus one molecule of O3. Thus the unfiltered sonde reports [O3] - [SO2] while the filtered sonde reports [O3]. Laboratory tests prior to launch …

Theoretical Result Of Deflection Of Light Under General Relativity Could Be Wrong, Jorge A. Franco

Through the new definitions of relativistic mass, gravitational field and that of Energy, obtained in previous work was derived a very approximate value of Mercury’s precession. In present work we address the photon’s motion around a massive body by doing the same treatment done for any mass. The clue to do this is due to realizing that photon has a real mass (depending on its linear momentum, kinetic energy and its frequency) and thus, it is susceptible to be attracted by another mass. According to this work, this is a consistent, general and natural way to attack the problem of …

Social, technological and information systems can often be described in terms of complex networks that have a topology of interconnected nodes that combines organization and randomness. The typical size of large networks such as social network services, mobile phone networks or the web now counts in millions when not billions of nodes and these scales demand new methods to retrieve comprehensive information from their structure. A promising approach consists in decomposing the networks into sub-units or communities, which are sets of highly connected nodes. The identification of these communities is of crucial importance as they may help to uncover a-priori …
First Solutions To Gravitation And Orbital Precession Under Vectorial Relativity, Jorge A. Franco
First Solutions To Gravitation And Orbital Precession Under Vectorial Relativity, Jorge A. Franco
Jorge A Franco
One of the reasons of the success of Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity (GTR) was that it allowed to calculate planet’s precession (rotation of the elliptical path axis with time, i.e.: Mercury Precession). The fact that its occurrence has been experimentally observed is not accounted by classic Kepler’s or Newton Laws because it is only applicable to constant masses. This work shows that planet’s precession is a direct consequence of considering variable planet’s mass inside accepted physical laws in our known three-dimensional space. According to us, this work positively confirms new definitions of mass and Energy obtained under Vectorial Relativity.
Charge Transfer Mechanisms In Electrospinning, Jonathan J. Stanger
Charge Transfer Mechanisms In Electrospinning, Jonathan J. Stanger
Jonathan J Stanger
Electrospinning is a method of producing nano structured material from a polymer solution or melt using high strength electric fields. It is a process that has yet to find extensive industrial application yet shows promise if obstacles such as low rate of production overcome perhaps by more complete theoretical modelling. This work examines the effects of adding an ionic salt to a solution of poly(vinyl alcohol) in water. The direct effect was an increase the charge density and electric current. It was found that an increase in charge density decreases the mass deposition rate and forms a thinner initial jet. …
The Adaptability Principle Of Mechanical Law And The Scale-Invariant Principle Of Mechanical Law In Fractal Space, Yang Xiaojun
The Adaptability Principle Of Mechanical Law And The Scale-Invariant Principle Of Mechanical Law In Fractal Space, Yang Xiaojun
Xiao-Jun Yang
The adaptability principle of mechanical law and the scale-invariant principle of mechanical law in fractal space are proved by using parameter-space and scale-space transforms in renormalization groups. From the space-transform angle, the transform of mechanical law from fractal space to European space is the scale-invariant transform while the transform of mechanical law from European space to fractal space is the adaptability transform.Their deductions are that law of conservation of energy and vectorial resultant of force and displacement in fractal space hold the line in form and Carpinteri's dimensional formula of fractal space is also proved. Namely, the spilling dimension of volume in fractal …

Fractional definite integral is that a value of the integral calculus over given interva1.Under the circumstance of fractional dimension, fractional definite integral is important to compute some value in given interva1.It is complied with starting introducing definition, the properties, leads into fractional integral function of definition and the properties, and then induces to basic theorems for fractional integral calculus

Inelastic neutron scattering is used to probe the dynamical response of H2 films adsorbed on MgO(100) as a function of film thickness. Concomitant diffraction measurements and a reduced-dimensionality quantum dynamical model provide insight into the molecule-surface interaction potential. At monolayer thickness, the rotational motion is strongly influenced by the surface, so that the molecules behave like quasiplanar rotors. These findings have a direct impact on understanding how molecular hydrogen binds to the surface of materials used in catalytic and storage applications.
